We are late sharing but we wanted to thank our local Burger King for donating crowns for our P.A.W.S participants to be the kings and queens of Porter.
Our K-2 students enjoyed a fun game of Hot Broccoli after their nutrition activity today in after school program. We just want to thank our Johnson County Health Department partners.

Mrs. Jarrell's 1st grade reading group worked hard writing sentences using commas correctly and had fun with vocabulary word puzzles today!

Mrs. Burchett’s class participated in a pumpkin investigation. We estimated, measured, and explored using pumpkins as our tool. Happy Halloween 🎃

Mrs. Johnson’s second graders conducted pumpkin investigations today! Students made predictions about the pumpkin’s seed count, circumference, height and weight. Students then compared their predictions to the pumpkin’s actual measurements using comparative clauses. They also had a Halloween celebration with a special snack! Happy Halloween! 🎃
Porter Elementary's PAWS after school program celebrated "Lights on After School" with a visit to one of our partners, the Mountain Homeplace! After school students painted pumpkins, went on a tractor ride, visited the petting zoo, fed the goats and horse, and played on the playground!

Today Mrs. Helmandollar's 4th graders acted as engineers. They used the Engineering Design Process to work through and create a creature catcher while also enjoying a Apple Pie in a Cup for an Apple Day treat!
Our final Family Reading Night was a success! Thank you to Emily Triplett for reading to the children! They loved it!
