Today we began our third week of summer time fun for our Panther campers.
Since today is Friday our panthers went on their second filed trip for summer camp. We went to the space center at Morehead State University to enjoy the planetarium. Thank you Ms. Ward for sharing your pictures.
Parents/guardians we sent another note home today about our field trip tomorrow. We just want to remind everyone that we would love to have our panthers at Porter by 8:00 am tomorrow. This would allow us to leave by 8:15am. Also the bus is scheduled to be back around 2:00pm tomorrow. Be aware that this is an approximate time and could be a little early or a few minutes later than 2:00pm. Sorry for any confusion on times for tomorrow's field trip.
We have also added a picture of the campus map of Morehead State University.
We would like to thank Bill Knott and James Thomas from the Division of Forestry for bringing Smokey Bear to visit with our panther summer campers. We had a great time learning about forest fire prevention.
These Panthers are ready to write!!! Good luck in the Junior FPS International Competition!!! ❤️🖤❤️🖤
We just want to remind our parents/guardians about our field trip on Friday, June 7th. Please remember to dress your child in appropriate clothing for our trip to Morehead State University where we will visit the space center and the planetarium located on the campus. We would love to see the students in their Porter Panthers t-shirts. It is not a requirement, just a suggestion. The weather is not a factor for this trip due to it being indoors. It is not anticipated that the students will need any money for this trip. They may want to save their money for the trip to the aquarium on June 21st. If you are following us on the field trip be aware of the following instructions pertaining to parking passes. This is according to the email we received from Mr. Joe Wallace Stiltner who is over parking at Morehead State University. “A visitor permit will not be required if attendees park in spaces designated Employee (brown)or Student (green) on the attached campus map. Please ensure they avoid parking in Reserved (signed/numbered) spaces. Please feel free to call me at (606)783-2363 with any questions or concerns.” Thank you, Joe Stiltner Morehead State University If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me at 606-789-2545 or email me at suzette.fairchild@johnson.kyschools.us Sincerely, Mrs. Suzette Fairchild I am also attaching a map of the campus of Morehead State University for those parents/guardians that may be following us to the science center planetarium. The space center is number 67 on the map. Please notice the brown or green parking areas on the map.
Students enjoyed reviewing math skills with their Mango Math and designing their own constellations.
We want to thank Ms. Erica for coming today from the Conservation Office to work with our panthers. They enjoyed playing the Pollinator game and making sun catchers.
