Junior ACT Update:
All Kentucky public school 11th graders are required to take the state ACT in March 2024. Most of our JCHS students will test using their chromebooks on March 13 at 8:20am. Please avoid making non-critical appointments on that date.
On Wednesday, January 31, all juniors will be bringing home a yellow " Parental Consent Form for parents/guardians to indicate YES or NO regarding participation in the free ACT Education Opportunity System explained below. They will receive this form from their chemistry teacher. Please sign and return to the chemistry teacher ASAP.
Brief explanation of the EOS indicators:
YES --Parent gives permission for their child's ACT scores to be sent to colleges for free, and for their child to receive scholarship information
or
NO--Parent does not give permission for their child's ACT score be sent to colleges for free and that they agree to pay a $16 fee to send the scores later. They also do not grant ACT to provide scholarship opportunities to their child.
For more information on the EOS (Education Opportunity System, watch the short video linked here: https://share.act.org/watch/zQQhKbx4ghnX6kdK9SboZG
Regarding registering for the state ACT: The student or parent cannot register the student for a state ACT as that is the responsibility of the school. Mrs. Caudill has already registered all JCHS juniors.
