Johnson County traditionally celebrates the Kentucky Apple Festival on the first Saturday of October. Educators often incorporate an apple theme into standards and cross-curricular instruction. Under normal circumstances, Superintendent Cochran visits elementary classrooms and celebrates this rich tradition by dressing in character while reading Johnny Appleseed. Due to current circumstances, the tradition will continue virtually. The attached video is accompanied by a Google Form which can be used to aid in the assessment of oral reading comprehension. This is a great story to share with young readers!
